Finnish M39 Tikka??

Post by Hoppes »

I was lucky enough to buy this M39 some time ago from a fellow that I think didn't know what he had. It came with a somewhat different sling (unmarked), a muzzle cover and hang tag. The receiver is an 1895 Tula and various other bolt parts from Tula and Izhevsk. The stock is a new appearing pre-war/wartime Sako. The barrel appears to be a new Tikka from 1943. It has the 3 6 00 proof marking but no other markings except the serial number which match on the bolt and trigger group. The usual SA and D markings are absent. The hang tag indicates that the rifle was last inspected August 16, 1979 if I am reading the tag correctly. From what reading I have done, there were only 5000 Tikka barreled M39 produced most in the 70's. I hope this is one of them ! Any other history, additions, corrections would be more than welcomed. Thanks, Hoppes

Nice looking gun. The 3600 is a firing proof marking. Definitely a Tikka.
