We installed a new washer and dryer just over a week ago. The deep freezer plug got dislodged just enough to shut it down. We didn't notice for 7 days. 40lbs of venison and 12 ducks gone.

It could have been worse though, we found out as we were about to load it up with a 1/4 cow, it would have been a LOT worse if it had happened later and we lost that!

We now have a freezer alarm.

It actually wasn't bad, we figure it took three days to thaw fully then the basement is fairly cool. It was way beyond saving though.

I'll just have to get more this year.

That'll make some good coyote bait.
