I missed out on where you buy the tumbling pins for cleaning brass? I have used rice, corn cobs, crushed walnut shells, but not metal.. Would BB's work in the tumblers? I use a lyman and a frankford tumbler..Thanks....Plus who cleans brass wet, and what liquid do you use?? Thanks too. RH10.

Thanks, I have not used Amazon, so I had no idea that was where the media was hiding..Looks like there is all kinds of pieces in the bag...a good use for scraps from production in a factory?

I missed the second part of your question. After putting in the five pounds of pins and twenty or so pounds of brass, I fill the drum about 90% of the way with water then add a good squirt of concentrated Dawn dishwashing liquid and about a half tablespoon of citric acid. Some folks use LemiShine. The crystallized citric acid is cheaper and works just as well. I buy it on Amazon. I'm getting my money's worth out of that Prime membership one way or another!!

Okay, websterz, I was wondering about that part..the wet solution... I had used weak dawn dishwashing solution and soaked my .40s&w brass...When It dryed, I saw some white crud in the primer sockets, so I went back a scraped them cleaner...I usually use the flat tool in all the primer sockets, before i go back with reprimering....I want this ammo to look good and last at least 5 years, without any corrosion or FTF..I probably won't seal any of these Berry bullets to the cases, but maybe some of the remington JHP, that I plan to carry..thanks for your expertice on this matter, as I had no idea how much of the ss metal to buy.. too bad I don't still have an auto punch around our shop..I have lots of old Ice machine ss cabinets sides, I could cut up...make up my own media..

Just a recap. The SS pins are for wet tumbling only. Some people use a rock tumbler type unit that can be bought at Harbor Freight. Others make their own. The Dawn and Lemi-Shine can even be used without the pins, but the pins bring the brass to a luster that is sometimes better than new and the pins clean the primer pockets and insides of the cases better. Sparingly on the Lemishine. I found it at Walmart in the dishwasher detergent section for under 4 dollars. You will rinse the cases after removing them from the tumbler and lay them out to dry. No white residue if done right. Ebay is good also for Stainless pins in various weight quantities. There is also some Internet companies that sell them reasonable. GOOGLE like Millman said will turn up more info than you have time to read.
