The ranch where I keep my horse is owned by an old marine who was shot by one (SKS) in the ass in 1970 by some chick, said the snipers with the SKS rifle were more a threat than any firearm they encountered.

They were very good with the SKS carbine and many were shot with it.

Cool collection, I have one myself captured during Tet in '68. That first one, the buttstock looks like it was eaten by something, ant's maybe? Or worms? I know Vietnam is full of little buggers that eat everything that sits around in one spot too long. Jungle pickup?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Those guns are not mine they are photos from my collection of material on SKS They had termites and other bugs that ate whatever they came in contact with . The guy carrying that gun in the photos may have been killed and the gun layed there exposed for some time or it was unprotected in a cashe
