Scope

I have a great chance to get a Russian SKS and I was wondering how would you mount a scope on it. I admit I don't know that much about the SkS and would like to add it to my Mosin collection.

If you can grab a true Russian SKS for a decent price, do so. That being said, please don't bother seeking out a means to bolt a scope to it. I love my Russian SKS and can hit "minute of man" out to 300+ yards with the irons no problem but the groups you will get with optics really don't justify putting a scope on one. If you feel the need to shoot 1 MOA past 100 yards invest in a modern bolt gun and PM me the contact info for the seller of the SKS that you're looking at.

After looking at different way to mount a scope on it, it would be more of a hassle to do so. And it would just get in the way of cleaning it. Thanks for the input.

+1. My groups worsened with a scope on mine. I took it off.
