New Yugo 59/66 A1

Post by Chiroptile »

Hey guys.. I took a sabbatical of over a year in length. This is my first post in just as long. In the time since I have last posed here, I have moved, gotten married, almost finished my schooling, and promised the wifie that there would not be any new firearms until I graduated. I held strong for over a year, but then folded a couple of weeks ago. Got myself a new 59/66 Yugo. This is my first SKS. I have done a little research into the rifle and learned that the serial number dates it back to 1968. I don't believe it has ever been issued and I haven't shot it yet. Not sure whether I want to put any rounds through it or preserve it in its present condition. I know these Slovenian SKS rifles aren't particularly rare at this moment, but then again, many different milsurp rifle variants have doubled, tripled, quadroupled in value over the last 15-20 years.. Here are some photos..

Those sabbaticals can be tough to get through, especially the extended ones  Your 59/66 is real nice, you did good when you fell off the wagon.
