Bulgarian Range Report

Post by tjtM38 »

I really like the way this Bulgarian surplus light ball is shooting in all my Mosin Nagant rifles. This target was shot at 100 yards with my M91/30 Izhevsk (Hex) ex-dragoon. I have had no malfunctions with this headstamp 10 over 80 ammo. The second target I threw in just for the heck of it. It is also at 100 yards with a TC Renegade .50 cal, .490 Remington round ball (190 GR) and 60 grains of FFg.

Good shooting, both them targets deader than dead. :)
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

You're a wealthy man to be using a Harley as a backstop!

Nice shooting on both accounts. I'd say you got 'em both. Man, that .50 caliber makes some big holes, huh?

Nice job!

Oh man. I was gonna make a crack about the Harley backstop. You beat me to it. looks like some fun shooting. That is a Harley Sportster isn't it? Very nice
Tjt, I have a Renegade in 54 cal. .530 round balls with 80 grains Pyrodex is deadly accurate. 90 grains is kind of a magnum punch but no more accurate.

Yeah, it is a 2005 Sportster with about 30,000 miles on it. Guess the Harley folks wouldn't take too kindly to using it as a backstop at the range. By the way, Bunky, I don't think TC makes near the rifle these days than they did when they made Renegades. Way too many in-lines and plastic stocks for my taste....
