I attained a 1913 Kholodovskii Prototype, and have the fortune to share the photos here. A BIG thanks to Dolk for connection which allowed me to purchase this specimen.

That's an amazing addition to your collection. I don't know how you find these rifles, but I'd love to own that one. I love that rifle. Thanks for sharing it and working to obtain and share its history.

Very intriguing rifle, takes a while just to wrap your mind around it. So much going on with that one compared to a standard M91. Excellent research and write up, very good read. Congrats on acquiring a great piece of History.

Wow, what an amazing rifle and history. What are the odds of it surviving, making it out of Russian and then somehow into the US.

If there are ever anymore Mosin books written, I expect to see this one in it.

You have to change your outlook a bit. Think of it this way. One team is the secrets of the Mosin Nagant rifles and then there is our team the collectors and researchers and enjoyers of the knowledge. Matt just hit a grand slam for our team and we reap the benefits for all of us. Oh man, I was headed to bed about a hour and a half ago. I started reading this interesting post then the links then the original post on Gunboards. I barely scratched the surface! Gonna have to come back for more, but I really don't see how you could ever top this. The cherry on top. From here on out you can only enhance your collection by adding nice specimens. Congrats Matt.

There must be some mistake, this is no Mosin. This is the missing link: the Russian Mauser!!

I have decided you are the quintessential collector. Thanks for the pictures and the article, as I will never get to see this one anywhere in person. I intend on reading the entire article when I get back from the rifle range, which is priority one this morning. I never knew anything about this prototype, so it is an education for me.
