Well, my barrel and receiver/bolt only came today. Brown delivered a day early! ONE WHOLE DAY EARLY!
It came with two magazines. One is cleaner than the other.
Bolt seems off? It doesn't quite seem right? The face looks small. The head space gauge barely fit. But it is a go and checks out. It closes hard. I tried it with the bolt from my Remington and it works fine. No hang ups or nothing.
I'll take it to the range on Wednesday to see what it does. The barrel is in great shape. It unscrews the jag when I push it through with a patch.
No pictures yet. Not sure I like it yet. lol I should have edited the video or done a take 2 or something. If you watch it you will surely get it.

Some do most don't! Click and work hard that is. Take the bolt head off and assemble the bolt with just the connector bar in place and see how it works. If that solves it start checking out the bolt head closely for a problem. If it still clicks and works hard with the bolt head off take the connector bar off and try it that way. If that solves the problem check the connector bar for being bent or maybe the two fingers on it are closed too much on the appendage on the cocking piece. If that doesn't solve the problem take the bolt the rest of the way apart and check the firing pin to see if it is bent. No luck with any of that try looking real close at the edge of the receiver where the bolt handle base slides past it to lock. You should check the bolt handle base for burrs and distortions too. If all that fails head for the internal lock up ramps looking for burrs or distortions both on the bolt and the receiver too. I use a diamond file at times very lightly on the bolt to smooth galled areas that should be smooth too. If all that doesn't work then I would say as long as it works right and locks up safely try and use it that way for awhile and maybe like JYD says it will work in a bit. Bill

I will post pics of the bolt tomorrow as well. It has a worked on look to it? Not sure how to explain it. I'll use the good camera and hope for some good pictures.
But one thing, it does look good in the Remington stock! lol

Nice looking piece - so far. Just a thought- try fitting a spent cartridge casing into the bolt face to see how it fits; you mentioned the bolt face looks small? Good luck with it!

I had to go check some other rifles just to be sure of myself. Although the click is far more pronounced on this VKT, all my other rifles to it to a degree. I believe the reason I haven't noticed it before is due to being able to close the bolts in one fluid motion. That I can not do with this new one.
That being said, I took it back apart and gave it a WD-40 shower and then cleaned it up again. After the photo shoot and all, when I put it back together it seems to be working a bit smoother then before.
As for the head seeming smaller, the channel is larger than the one on the bolt I was looking at is all. Instead of slowing up the page I will just add the link to the folder on photobucket.
