I'm curious what all you SKS guru's have to say about this one. Thoughts? I've never actually seen one sell before, is this price about what you guys would expect?

Here's the discussion that ensued on Gunboards.

If it was not "wire brushed", it could have sold anywhere from $1,700 to $2,200 - depending on how hungry the buyers were at the time.

Makes me wish I had picked up the one I came across at the Puyallup gunshow a few months ago for $850, even with the front sight post hood half cut off and bayo lug ground. I think you know the seller, Martin. He also had the East German Kara-S with the "LWW" in the butt stock. I believe RussianFreak now owns it.

That NVA I saw for $850 ended up going for $700. I was standing there when the buyer negotiated it down to $700. I can tell you this, the stock and action were in much better shape than the one that just sold on GB for $1260.

Any time an NVA with no critical issues can be had for under $1000, then it's time to pounce if your funds allow.

What the hell?! Where did he come from? lol

I wouldn't have bought it at that price due to the wire brushing, but I would have paid a healthy price! The bullet damage and bring back would have got my attention.

I will have to find out where this dealer is!

Wow, even wire brushed that rifle is dripping with pure, raw history. I get tremendously schooled being here with you guys. I love this stuff, and have the sleep deprivation to prove it!

don't know where my post ended up but it is not here ??? so I will try again
The NVA and The East German are two guns that for a collector are a must have to round out a collection. These two guns are bot extremely hard to find in good condition. The guns are from the early Vietnam war years and that is when guns were stashed during the day and carried at night during operations by the farmers by day soldiers. These guns show exposure to the elements and were not taken care of. It is believed by me at least :) these guns were a Chinese made gun most likely Factory triangle 26 you will note the Russian rear sight blades and bayonets. The serial numbers are believed to be a hint to the year date 62 is 1962 63 is 1963 64 1964 65 1965. Guns that are this rare usually cannot be priced by condition as they are not easily found and condition would not be an issue the rarity will keep the price to the limit of what will you pay to have an example.
