Romanian Tokarev TTC

Post by 81turbota »

Hey all,
I bought this a month ago, forgot to post about it. Turner's has a bunch of these on stock, got this one on sale. I was able to look at 5 of them before I settled on this one. It's a 1953, numbers matching and a fantastic shooter. That 7.62x25 is a hot round! I'm not a fan of the added safety or the huge import mark, but it's a great little pistol.

Note- the magazine floor plates are not original, they were added by me as my ogre hands are a little big for the stock setup.

Nice looking pistol! Did you get in on any of the cheap surplus ammo when it was available?

Thanks, it's really fun. Accurate, powerful and very flat trajectory.

I missed out on the cheap ammo, so I'm not spoiled. Cabelas has PPU for 13.95/50, it's not that bad compared to the 45acp I'm accustomed to.

I have the Romanian and Chinese versions of this one. One really nice feature is that, with the change of the barrel, you can go to 9MM Luger, and back in the time it takes to field strip. The mags work fine without modification and on my two, so did the barrel link and bushing. The Tokarev is a nice gun and, you are right, they are fun to shoot.

I have a Romanian also. I bought 2500 rounds a couple years ago and put some on the board here to sell and 1 person bought 100 rounds at .13 a round. Now I'm glad nobody wanted any. I liked the TT-33 frame so much I bought a Zastava M70 in 9mm. Zastava M70 is the top one.

Been shooting mine a lot lately, great pistol, fun as heck to shoot. The 7.62x25 round is a kick, I love the high velocity and the boom. At under $200.00, why wouldn't everyone own one of these? Kind of becoming the 91/30 of the pistol world. And yes, I like my Nagant pistol but this thing is a heck of lot more fun to shoot.

Guys - can I get a reality check on current pricing? I've been eyeing a 7.62 x25 for a while. I'm in SoCal like 81turbota, and I see Turner's has them for $270 w accessories. Allan's Armory has the Yugo Zastava M57 for ~$200 no holster/clean rod. Might Capybara (or Longcolt44 or SA1911a1) know of a source for Romanian TT under $200? Thanks.

Nice pistols LC and Capybara. I wish I was familiar with these when ammo was cheap, I am always late in the game. I bought an AK74 after 5.45 ammo doubled in price. Oops.

LC, how do you like the Tok in 9mm? If I see one, I will be very tempted.

Nice gun I don't shoot mine much but I do like it's flat trajectory and lack of recoil. Makes it easy for my wife to handle. She hates my Glock .40 and Colt 45's. Especially the model 27 Glock in 40 cal.I love it. JGC
