Holy Mother of Military Surplus!

I have no words to express any type of intelligent reply to you. You know what you got and any meager attempt of posting a reply wouldn't be close to worthy.

I am impressed to say the least. That collection is truly fascinating and overwhelming.

I'll keep it simple by asking a simple question! In the 4th photo, hanging from the ceiling and towards the right with what appears to be a hozizontal magazine...what is that one?

Very, very impressive Howie!

Holy shit!
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Nice museum Howie. They look hungry. It's good to see that you also have the ammo stacked up to feed them. Howie, what was your first SKS, and how long ago?

Thanks fellows !!! I will post some more pics of the collection if you want. The gun hanging from the ceiling is a training aid RPK made from Rubber. The M1917 water cooled is a semi build almost all Rock Island parts and is unfired except for testing by builder. I also have a M1919A4 semi. all the rest of the submachine guns and machine guns are dummy display pieces I built from kits except the M60 which is another training aid dummy. There is allot of different SKS carbines there My first was when the SKS first showed up in used condition for 179.99 no ammo available. The one i got was a sino soviet Factory 26 with no finish what looks like blood rust in places and the wood worn from carrying . My guess is a Chinese may have brought it back from Vietnam or it could have been a gun carried in vietnam and sold after the war. I will post some pics of it later today.

I remember when those semi auto machine guns started showing up on the market, someone at my friends gunshop had him order a BAR, and one of the Browning's, I forget the exact one he bought. I saw the BAR, not a bad job, but at the time I was Garand hunting and didn't get involved with the semi machine guns. Why is it unfired ( the 1917) ? It's a commercial firearm now, not a milsurp, you will not hurt it by firing it, and I am told it's a fun shooter if expensive to feed.

Howie, how many Ex-DDR's do you own? I'd be super interested in seeing them, as your collection seems to have some of the earliest examples of SKS's.

Also, am drooling over that very bottom Russian's stock! Closeups! Closeups! Just beautiful fiery birch.

Awesome collection!

These guns are my investment so that when I pass on my Wife will have something to help her out. If I do not shoot that Browning it will be worth a whole lot more The side plates were new made to exact specs including the engraving all the parts except bbl are Rock Island. I had 4 live guns when I was younger before a divorce I had a M1917A1, MG42, Maxim 08, and Maxim 08/15 all live. I have shot lots of machine guns so nothing special to me but i sure enjoy my surroundings here. :) will post the whole collection of photos here soon

Howie, I look forward to the next group of photos! I like how you have them displayed as well. Once I outgrow the spare room, I am headed to the basement. Your photos are one heck of an inspiration!
