Discussion of the SKS platform of semi auto rifles
Preservation forum, please no altered military surplus rifles or discussions on altering in this forum. Please read the rules at the top of each forum.
After a few request for a SKS only forum, we have made this "sub forum". We will see how it goes and if it stays a sub forum, gets moved up to the main board index, or is removed  .
That will be up to the users, and participation.
It is a "preservation" forum so please read the preservation rules (above), but we don't want to beat anyone up for making a mistake either. Education of "new owners" is primary on all of the forums. Without the new members, the future is nothing. Helping them to "understand" preservation will save hundreds of military firearms from being destroyed. That is our goals here.
So, please enjoy yourself here, and lend a helping hand to those who are trying to learn.
Beat him in? Don't you know that the first regular member to post here has to set up the chairs, make the coffee, buy the donuts, and hang the little cakes in the urinals? Get to it
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Oh, I see how it is now...While I'm buried under 2 feet of snow since Tuesday, no power for 2 days straight, freezing rain taking out 120' tall Douglas Fir trees in my forest, you guys go and start a whole new section! Meh....SKS's are for wimps!
MN fan- Be interested to see what you come up with. Post pics if you can. One of the most important parts of my posting is the year and arsenal. I am assuming it is a Russian. Those pica of the left side showing the serial number and the front crossbolt tell us a lot about the rifle. A shot of the left side of the stock is essential for the nonrefurb part. Of course, the shot of the top of the receiver cover even if it does not have anything on it is another key area. Prices for Russians this month are averaging above $440 and that is bacause of two very high prices Izzys that went down early. The number sold is alreaady part 30 and that means it will be possibly over a forty sold month.
I'm keenly interested in the Russians although I have a couple of Norinco paratroopers that would be considered bubbas because I have Monte Carlo stocks on them. They are shooters, the Russians aren't.
