Poking around the interwebz and the US Treasury's web site, yup, my Russian SGL-26 just jumped in resale value.. some folks are saying that it applies to new manufacture only, others say it applies to ALL KC goods. If so, that would likely also include the Molot mosin. I think it'll be a little bit longer before we really see the full scope of this one..

Well word is someone on one side just shot down a passenger jet (Malaysia air can't catch a brake), so this whole thing is going to escalate quickly now.

Just talked to one of my acquaintances. He is grabbing all the money he can to buy up 20 cases of Wolf ammo. His bright idea: when "no more AK ammo is to be had" he will sell the ammo on Gunbroker for 75 bucks a box...

Molot is not owned by either of these two companies banned. It will not touch them. Nor the new Tulsky company.

If this bans the import and sale of these two makers, then it will not effect the one's already here. If they do that, then the NRA will step in and file on them and they know it. You can't take away, but you can stop incoming.

This does not effect us with Mosins......yet. But this guy with a "stroke of the pen and a phone call" can easily add them any time he wants. There is also a law suit being considered by Boner (spelled wrong on purpose) that will end up in Supreem Court. If he wins, these Exec Orders will die (mostly).

Just have to wait and see.

In California, we have a motion going onto the ballot in 2016 to break the state into 6 separate states. That means each state would get 2 Senators for a total of 12 votes in the Senate instead of the old 2 votes. It will never pass...probably.
But if it does! Look out for the anti-gunners!

I thought Molot was under the Kalashnkov Concern group? Everyone's talking about the fact that the VEPR line (by Molot) are now verboten.... Tulsky definitely doesn't look to be included at this point but based on events going on over there right now, that could change at any point. You're correct though, won't affect the things that are already over here. Well, other than price gouging which already appears to be well under way.

Well, after the down jet liner, if it turns out Russia was involved, you won't be able to buy anything from Russia shortly.

I hope not.

Well, many of the Mosins coming in to the U.S. are located somewhere other than Russia, so hopefully they can still be imported.
Oh wait, are these the "weapons of war" that shouldn't be allowed on the street? A Mosin rifle is more of a weapon of war
than any plastic AR15. They've actually been used in war. The AR just looks military.

I say, show your patriotism.....Import more Ukrainian Mosins. That will show them! ;mywink; That will back the Ukrainians more.

I wouldn't buy less Russian arms, just give us more "choice" and let the markets do the talking! :chuckles: ;mywink;

All of my Refurb Mosins came from Ukraine and I am not adding new ones so that will likely not change.

JYD, this may be a stupid question, but how do you determine what country a Mosin was imported from?

You can tell the Russian imports from the Ukranian imports because Russian imports have to have the Russian proof marks on them. This is a diamond with r n c inside (backwards n).

All the Molots and Tulsky rifles are out of Russia.

The refurbs are close to the markings on the snipers.
Go here and look at the bottom for Russian imports and you will find the diamond mark.
http://www.russian-mosin-nagant-forum.c ... 52&t=21911

Also, you will find Molot and Tulsky marking. Those are from Russia.

The rest of the typical refurbs are Ukranian.

Not talking about the very few from Germany that have German proof marks or any rare variants.

According to another forum I frequent ATF has put all Russian and Ukrainian Form 6 (import permit applications) on hold while they wait to see what the administration is going to do. I don't know that this is true but I see no reason to doubt it right now. Your Molots may suddenly be very valuable.
