At the moment anyway. Is the SK ammo worth the price? Is 55 bucks per 500 rounds the new norm? I sure hope to see better pricing someday. :(

At that price I'll pass. I can reload for a lot less than that.

You can reload 22lr?
It's not a horrific price considering it includes shipping and you're right, just about any quality 22lr ammo these days is unobtanium.

I guess you COULD reload .22 but it would be a pain. I reload .40S&W and .45acp for the same price or less than they are asking for .22lr.

No .22? We were out for a while but we have had it now or about 2 months. It isn't cheap at $6.95 for 50 but we have it. Our normal channels have none but we found a gun show guy that sells to us. It is hell to sell some customer a .22 rifle for his boy/girl to have to tell them we don't have ammo to sell them.

I was kind of wondering if the SK is good ammo. I have not shot any of it. I got a tip on a local store to me that I am going to check out where a brick of 22 is in the under 25.00 range, which is what I hope becomes the norm again.

It's supposed to be decent enough ammo. It's made by Lapua. It's basically ammo that they didn't want to sell as their premium ammo for whatever reason from what I've heard. I forget the particulars but it's supposed to be good ammo. It's standard velocity ammo
http://www.lapua-gmbh.de/naviEN.html I've also heard some say it doesn't reliably cycle some semi-autos.
Here's a PDF with better specs.
http://www.lapua.com/upload/downloads/b ... 013/sk.pdf They say it's rated at 1050fps

SK ammo is top notch. It is made in Germany by a Lapua subsidiary. My match rifle will shoot SK standard + into 1 hole at 100 yards if I do my part.

Yeah... but how big is the hole?

I got my last brick of Remington .22LR at Fleet Farm for less than $25.

SK match is the same as Wolf match.... it is great target/ match ammo if your particular rifle likes it.

As luck would have it, I shot some of that exact same stuff at the range yesterday. A fellow CM-2 owner had some with him and he gave me a handful to try. Of course my CM-2 & CZ452 both loved it and now it's out of stock

I ended up buying a brick of Norma USA TAC22 from Midway. Fingers crossed that one or both of my 22's will like it.

I walked into Walmart this morning and they actually had 6 boxes of new improved Remington 22's! I got my 3 and hoofed it outta there. They said the 2 cases of 550 count Federals went in 30 minutes. That is how long it took for the first wolf that sniffed them out to call his buddies and get them to the store to snap them up.

11.17 per box. I think it was about 37 bucks with tax for 3

No, I bought heavily just before the panic, I added that to the good amount I already had on hand, and now am set for the rest of my life.

Its getting better for 22lr I've noticed but if you have a 22 Magnum it's all but impossible to find anything. Unless you want to severely overpay and I don't. Twice in the past two weeks I bought 300 rounds of cci for about $24 after tax. I also picked up a nitrogen sealed container of 325 rounds federal for $26.95. It's getting better.

You re-load . 40? A friend of mine told me a couple years ago that this couldn't be done because if you put one grain too much powder that the results would be disaster. I believed him but I still saved all my brass.
