Went by the LPS this morning. He had a rack of old 22,and a few single shot shotguns sitting in the middle of the floor .
Al told me they were 100 specials. I looked at an old Rem. bolt ,tube fed. Took it over to the boss, he said 80
out the door. I went home and got some money and went back. I offered him a 100 dollar bill for the Rem. and
a west,field 36 d single shot 22. Wound up with with a sport- master mod.341 and a west field ( Mosberg 26 c)
for 110 out the door. The old rem looks a bit rough but she works shorts and lr shells mixed, very good bore.
Need a new plastic trigger guard for the Mossberg ,and maybe a rec, sight ,it's already tapped.

Re: Pawn shop visit
I love my Remington 341. Walnut stock, tube feed, made around 1939 give or take a year and still functions flawlessly.

Congrats you had a good day. I would take either one for that price and you got two.

Not to mention the fact that just a bolt alone goes for 100+ on Gunbroker, when one becomes available. I see the rifles in nice shape go close to 300.00. Some of these were target models with aperture (peep) sights. Mine is just the plain sight model.

Hey +dhic, $80 is a good price
I gave $150 for mine a while back. Glad to see these are getting some chatter here in the small cal. section. As BD stated above they also had the 341P with the peep sight setup. These were made from 1936 to 1940, a little over 130,000 were made. I gonna post up mine in a another thread here in just a sec.
Congrats, I love these old 22's.

Bunkeysdad, slick looking old Rem. you've got . I cleaned mine up a little and took it to the range. I was impressed
with the way it functioned and the groups even with cheap shells. This is the first of the 341s I have shoot.
It's a shame you can't buy quality like that these days. You all have good day. +dhic aka Cliff.

Re: Pawn shop visit
For not very many being made, it is interesting to hear how many members of this board have these. I inherited mine about two years ago from my grandfather. I have never shot it because I have never cleaned it, or taken it apart. I don't know how to disassemble. I need to send it to a gunsmith and have it checked out. This is the only thing I have of my grandfathers, so it's mine for life.
