Hey guys. I started starting collecting these addictive things we call Mosin Nagants. I have a 42 PU sniper setup from Rguns, a T53 and now this new Finn that I have mentioned in the title.

There is no way that any of us will let you give up. Keep trying until you get pics!
Use a pic hosting website, and direct link them here.

That is what an old warhorse should look like. Have you wondered who Al was?

To tell you the truth I have no ideal! I thought it was a 91/30. What would be the signs of a 38 or Balkin?
I just seen that SA stamp on the receiver and knew what that meant! I also was thinking that the E with the two arrows was Westinghouse-Am I wrongC?

I think about that every time I hold her...The other side of the stock has "LK" carved on it. So AL and LK has put rounds down range before I have. One of them might have been the one who re-bored the barrel too

Assuredly an M91/30. And the SA means Finn. Nicely used!

That's a well used beat-up warhorse. Very cool rifle you got.

Thanks everyone! Does anyone happen to know what the "o" inside of a circle means on the buttstock? There is also one on the receiver (although you cant see it in the pic).

The concentric circle stamp (at least on the barrel shank) is an accuracy proof mark. (

Very interesting rifle that you have there! It has definitely seen quite a bit in its time, very nice.

Wow Travis, you hit a homerun. And the bases were loaded. You hit a grand slam. It is a 1938 Izhevsk 91/30, has not been refurbed it appears, and most likely because it was in the possession of Finland in time to miss the refurb program of later years. The bolt handle was indeed once the original bolt handle of a New England Westinghouse M1891, but the initials and the SA are the Finn markings. Quite a few soldiers seem to have marked their stocks. I was also wondering about the circular Mark inside a circle just above the rear sling slot. A closeup picture would be great. I am glad to see that you figured out how to post pictures.

I love rifles like this one. They are the ones I hunt for at gun shows. Beautiful! Make sure you dont try to " Make it purdy" Leave it as is, shoot it and enjoy it!
