Their "original scope" looks more like a Hungarian replacement scope. I have one had to go with it when my original was damaged beyond repair in an MVA. Also why the price and original price are so low. Most of these replacement scopes were handled in the early 1950s and usually come with a soviet certification of accuracy. The nice thing about the replacements are that some of the new ballistic calculator apps will recognize the Hungarian replacement scopes when they won't the original.
As they say the pen is mightier than the sword...however that also means the pen is far more dangerous than the sword. The sword can take your life or your limb but can not take your freedom, the pen can. A wary patriot watches the pen as it can steal his freedom. The wary patriot knows he can use the pen to take power from those who wish to use the pen for evil, but keeps his rifle close by his side "just in case"!

I've never seen or heard of Hungarian replacement scopes. How can you tell?

How you know they are "Hungarian"??? I'd be interested in those.

The only three I could ID on their website were the three below, all Russian scopes made in the 40's. (only close up photos that you could tell on their site)
These are all Russian Molot sniper rifles also.

Izhevsk:
This one is from the Kharkov plant and these were made for Russia (photo from Classic's website)

This one is from the Progress Plant and they were made for Russia (photo from Classic's website)

I didn't see any others on their website. Dolk

I went for it also, but sorry that I did. I should have went for a Rguns and got an original. Not sure what I'm going to get. I thought about calling and cancel my order but the costs involved are very high. I'm a little worried but I plan to shoot it so I will get my money's worth one way or another.

Well, I thought about it and read somewhere that they sell to walk-in customers. Figured that a lot of the good rifles may be gone if they do sell that way, not 100% sure. So since I bought off of Classic before and was very satisfied I ordered again. Should be interesting anyway!

Relax and take a deep breath. Molot PU snipers are real parts (at minimum) and as original as a refurbished sniper gets. Worth the cost that you paid. RGUNS brings a rock solid provenance is the difference.

Group West are molots...in my opinion the best molots as there are very inconspicuous import marks. I have one.

I take it you are talking about the current Ukrainian reproduction/fake copies of Ww2 scopes with bogus "Progress" markings, made by FotoDevice in Cherkassy, Ukraine? They don't come with "Soviet" paperwork because they are not from the Soviet era, just a little technical specs sheet that looks kind of semi-official if you don't know what original Soviet military PU scope documents look like.

Bought one from Classic. Have had good luck with them and Mosins in the past. Will send a pic with details when it arrives.
