I may have a choice to make. Which one should I get if I can only have one? Thanks!

Didn't I just see this post?
SKS- proven in battle, the other one is something cranked out as a commercial sporter. SKS can be had as a milsurp, that means it's got some history, not something that can be said about the other one.

SKS is more accurate. Limited to ten rounds with the factory magazine, HOWEVER practice (and GOOD stripper clips) will get you reloaded as fast as detachable magazines, and not as heavy to carry. For the bad, they are heavier and prone to slamfire when the firing pin channel gets gunked up.

SKS hands down. Proven reliabilty and durability. Not to mention much much cooler to look at. That is provided you don't put a black stock on it and hang all kinds of "tacticool" crap all over it.

Have both. If I had to choose one, it would be the SKS. No comparison on the build quality.

Between those two I would choose sks. Im not a Saiga guy, although I am an AK guy. I just dont buy into the "because Russian" mentality the Saiga guys have.

I have had a couple Saigas and a few SKSs. I really couldn't choose. It also depends on where you live and what is allowed. My Saiga 7.62x39 is just as good as my SKS rifles. I would go with the Saiga if you plan to go tactical and alter it. SKS if you plan to keep it stock. My Siaga is stock for now, but I filled the hollow buttstock with some stuff to absorb recoil and ad ballast as it's a tad nose heavy. The Saiga has a 10rd capacity, like the SKS, but both can be made to accept larger magazines. I think if I had to leave with only one, I'd grab the SKS, but you really can't lose with either choice.
