Sellers Statement
First off, these are the finest Mosin Stripper Clips you can buy. USSR made clips are far superior to other Com-Bloc or newly manufactured clips. Read on!
You are looking at 6 (six) Original Stripper Clips for the Mosin Rifle (see list below for others). Each clip loads 5 7.62x54R cartridges. These were manufactured in the Izhevsk Plant in the USSR between 1946-1953. Look at the Arrow in Triangle mark. This also comes with 3 Original Ammo boxes from the same era (1946-1953) that hold 15 cartridges on 3 stripper clips. These are becoming hard to find. These ARE NOT the NC Star Chinese knockoffs, but genuine Russian Clips, manufactured the way they were meant to be.
Details: Grade A. There may be light, tiny rust spots/oxidation marks. None are rusty (all rusty clips have been separated and will be for sale at a later date). These are made from mild steel, so they will rust/discolor if exposed to water. I recommend that you coat these in a small amount of gun lube/oil or keep them very dry. Izhevsk markings will vary. Some are very good, others are barely visible. Most will have decent markings.
Boxes will vary in color and construction. Some are paper thin and made well, others are thicker and assembled slightly crooked. This is normal. This stems from who and when they were made. I don't ship excessively torn boxes.
NO AMMUNITION IS SOLD WITH THIS LISTING.
Some rifles these fit: (May fit others as well)
Mosin 91/30
SVT-40
M39
M44
Chinese Type 53
Question for the Forum, what do you all think, are these the real deal as advertized

Look to be the real deal to me especially since they don't have the "wings" on the sides like you see in the reproductions. I don't think I would pay more than a couple of bucks for each stripper though.

As long as they came out of the boxes he has pictured they're the real one's and as described. There was a bunch of this ammo for sale over a year ago. I bought 4 crates of it. This is what it looks like still in the box.

Out of the 16 I purchased on Ebay last month, 13 work great and 3 are garbage. I don't know why? Maybe cheap China clips thrown in on purpose with the good ones or is it hit or miss with originals? I don't see any difference compared with the working clips. Also, all are marked with a stamping which is not hard for someone to do. You should ask the seller if all the clips work smoothly!

Those look like the Izhevsk clips that were being sold a year or two ago. I bought around 40 of them from a guy that bought a few crates of the ammo on chargers. They look like those. And he is right, they do rust pretty easy.

These stripper clips work by friction. The sides are what hold the cartridges. Because of the differences in tension provided by different stripper clips, you get different performance.

Jim you're not to far from "The Pink Poodle" and "The Brass Rail". If your wife won't let you have any strippers maybe she wouldn't mind if you just went to watch.

Real all right, Izhevsk stamp on the clips, this is that same ammo that was being sold by the spam can a year or two ago. I bought a can of it for the collection, plus 20 or so loose boxes, the ammo is 40's date and questionable, but as I bought it for display I didn't give a rats ass. These are the same clips I bought from Sarco 20 years ago, same Izhevsk stamp, they work, but like all Mosin clips, they are still a pain in the ass.

It's the best documentary I've seen on the Winter War. I've seen it several times and it never ceases to amaze me the odds that Finland overcame to keep their country. I've got a bunch of Finn and Russian movies on the Winter War and Continuation War but this doc is particularly well done.

Paul, these are the strippers that came in the cans of heavy ball (or light, can't remember) with 1946 date codes. They work as good as any I have seen. The clips were sealed up for 67or 68 years with ammo in them, but they are real honest to goodness original stripper clips marked Izhevsk. I split a can of the stuff with my buddy so I could get 30 of the clips. Each can contained 300 rounds, or 20 boxes of 15. So each little box had 3 clips. Each can has 60 clips.

Very true! +1 I can enjoy the stripper clip reality contest again. Like JYD said they are all a pain in the butt. They all were meant to use one time and be thrown away. Has anybody ever seen or heard of a stripper clip bag or something like that that was carried by any combloc soldiers on the battle field? Could you imagine running stealthily around a battle field with a bag of these? Face it real or imagined they were meant to be used as a way to carry one rifle full of ammo till you jammed it into the rifle (hopefully quickly if the clip worked) and threw the clip away. Yet many of you still run around professing how great these clips are and trying to resell them to other believers. Why do you think they were made out of cheap easy to rust steel? Because they were made to be used that one time ,hopefully successfully, and thrown away.
Yes I have some stripper clips and I do use them to carry loose ammo in a ammo can to the range but I don't even try to load them directly into the rifle but merely to keep the ammo from rattling around the ammo can. I think they are Chinese copies but I frankly don't remember. They are so lame they often release rounds into the can on the way from the shop to the range and have since I first got them. Yes I sell them at shows for ridiculously high prices because people will buy them and it pays for the table and is an enabler for me to continue to look for Mosins at shows. I also sell ex-snipers when they are available for lower prices to me and that is another thing I can't figure out why people want and will pay more for? But it pays the bills in trades and such so I continue doing it. We are all our worst enemies at times so when you participate in any of the shams above try and remember that. As always I ain't perfect but just Bill
