I'd quit shooting them before I would pay that.

I have been eyeing this brass match ammo for awhile, I just ordered a case....... Not planning on shooting it yet, just wanted to have because it is not so common. At a buck a round, it can sit with the other ammo while I shoot the cheap stuff.

Anyone know what this was manufactured for?

Here ya go Jim. $6.25 a round.
http://www.sgammo.com/product/federal/2 ... -king-ammo He had one even higher but it's sold out. Not only can you shoot a deer from a mile away but it guts and skins it for you before you get to it. We won't get into the Raufoss 50 BMG that can go for as much as $40 a round.

it's easy with my Bess, I sharpen up the flint, that's called knapping the edge, then I cast up some round lead bullets roughly the size of super size gobstopper candys from the old days. I could make powder if I had to, but I have enough to last many years. Prime the cartridge ( powder in the pan) pour powder into the cartridge ( a piece of wrapped paper that will be tourn open and powder poured into barrel), press bullet into cartridge ( stuff it down the barrel and ram it down) Make ready, take aim, fire. It's easy.

Lapua is manufactured in Finland. Everything about Lapua from the brass, to the powder and bullet is top notch.

Toooo much toooo much for berdan primed cases in my opinion.
Now the Privi Partizan 150 gr SP at 14-16$ per box of 20 seems like a bargain.
Buy 100 rounds of it from Cabella's at 90$ and they throw in a pretty nice ammo box.
That is decent brass, with boxer primers and bullets that my calibers say are .312 matching my bore.
So it is what I'm shooting for now.
I did buy some of the same from CTD at a slightly better price, but no 14$ ammo box thrown in so it comes out pretty close to being a wash.

You realize he's talking about 7.62x53R and not 7.62x54R?

Todd there's a size joke here but since this is a family friendly forum I won't go there, lol.

And we all appreciate your restraint! There's a bondage joke too but we won't sink that low.

A couple months ago I was looking for some 7.62 x 54r (or 53r) brass and wasn't finding much that was affordable, just a nice blue box of lapua brass (100 cases) for $100+. So about 4 weeks ago I am online at Cabelas' the first morning of an online sale and they have 7.62x53r Norma brass (this is good stuff, right?) for 29.95 a box, normally $49. Thought I just scored big time and I ordered 5 boxes and figured I was set for a good long time (500rds of brass for $150 + tax). I am bragging to a fellow mosin owner about it and he doesn't reload but looks at the add anyway and turns to me and says, "$30 is a lot of money for 25 pieces of brass. How many did you buy?' I look at the item again and he's right, the Norma boxes of brass are not 100 count like the Lapua, they are only 25!

Oooops! Read the fine print.

Luckygunner.com 440 - $109 7.62x54r -147 gr. a month ago
I started reloading steel casing and casting 185 gr. I tested several batches and the best was 26 gr. of IMR 4198, 1-1/4 group at 50 yds. Then 100 yds. sighting in the scope with the next batch
