wow actually was able to buy ammo from walmart.
Every time I go to Walmart I always walk past the ammo case just to check it out. It has been at least a year since I have seen anything I wanted.. Today I finally found something, a can (plastic with a screw top) of 9mm Tula ammo 100 rnds for $24.. So I got two

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: wow actually was able to buy ammo from walmart.
I may need to look at walmart again, I stopped because the one down the street has been out of most everything other than $1/round hunting ammo and shotgun shells.
I found .22lr and .22 mag at Scheels (a primarily sporting goods store) the other day which surprised me. But the .22lr was too expensive ($6.5/50) and the guy barely was able to unload it from the cart. He just handed it out to the lined up employees and customers. They had piles of 100 ct Winchester white box in 9mm, .40, and .45 on several shelves. Probably 100 boxes of each with a limit of 2 per customer.

Re: wow actually was able to buy ammo from walmart.
My Walmart Supercenter here just recently lifted their three-box limit on everything except .22LR (if they ever get any in stock) which is great. They have most everything in stock, a few calibers are still spotty and sell out quickly, I guess some people are still freaked out. Only one brand of 9mm on hand today when I was there, no .380, only one brand of .38SPL, other than that the case was full. Bought two more boxes of the Perfecta .223 because getting 50 rounds of brass-cased .223 for under $20 is a no-brainer.
Re: wow actually was able to buy ammo from walmart.
I've been buying 22lr from Cabelas when a good deal pops up on slickguns and I got lucky at Gander Mtn a few times. I've got enough to last a while. The Tula 9mm shows up at my WallyWorld occasionally and I get when they do. I would much rather just buy what I plan on shooting on any given day instead of feeling like I need to stock up so I'm not SOL when I decide to go to the range. Either way, I refuse to over pay for any of it.

My local Walmarts have had everything except .22 and .380 for a while, they get both of those in but they are snapped up immediately.

I've got a brick of Blazer .22LR arriving tomorrow from Cabela's, ran me $37 with shipping. I remember a little over a year ago paying $18 for it on sale at the local Farm and Home...grgmini wrote:I've been buying 22lr from Cabelas when a good deal pops up on slickguns and I got lucky at Gander Mtn a few times. I usually just pick up what I can, toss it in a bag and sort it out at home. 24.00 for the can of 100 was a real good price I thought. Heck, I got the Federal 100 rd box of 45acp in the picture for 28 or 29 bucks. Walmart doesn't forget that their customers are too important to gouge and rip off.
Re: wow actually was able to buy ammo from walmart.
I have been lucky the last three weeks. My Wall Mart has had .22 lr. usually on Monday morning. I was lucky enough to pick up some Blazer .22 40 grains lr. for $2.47 pr. box of 50, three box limit. Girl said they had Rem Gold 525 bulk for $ 23.75 but they were grabbed up by the same people she sees every Monday morning. She is trying to get the Manager to let her randomly alternate day's and times so some other people can get a chance at .22 lr. Most other cal. seam to be readily available. I was lucky because I got mine later in the day just by chance.

Re: wow actually was able to buy ammo from walmart.
My local walmart has still been pretty bare. And they still have the limit. 3 box max 3 different calibers. Almost next door academy has no limit except on 22lr and the have had a decent stock of almost everything. Except.22 lol.
Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

We've had most calibers in stock for a while, except .22LR, and 7.62x39. Plenty of 9, .380, .40, and .45ACP. Lots of .223. Rongo has kept as much on the shelves as he can. (That which he doesn't buy up himself....
