Bought a budget O/U

Post by Mike »

I borrowed a Stoeger Condor O/U a few weeks back and shot some of my best rounds of skeet with it. Today I found one in a pawn shop in my wife's hometown while we were visiting her father. It's cheap enough I don't have to worry about dings but hopefully reliable enough for the three rounds per week I generally shoot.

The gun comes with a typical small town warranty, "if it breaks, bring it back, we'll fix it."

Can't wait to try it out on Tuesday - when it will be 12 degrees!

I bought one of those for my ex wife. She is a whiz with it. :vcool:

Good looking shotgun!
Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I took it all apart, cleaned it up and converted the auto safety to a manual. There is no point in an automatic safety on a skeet field and sometimes it can be very annoying as you watch the skeet fly away because you forgot to take the damn thing off!

Tomorrow it will kill skeet. :D

Losing the auto safety will smooth things up quite a bit.

Condors are good guns. I'd have deactivated the auto safety on it also, I hate those infernal things!

Well, the gun shot flawlessly, it felt great, it certainly wasn't its fault I couldn't hit shit tonight! :chuckles:

The point of aim is very different from my BPS, it has an angled rib, the Stoeger rib is parallel to the barrel. I was shooting under artifical light and I never saw the wad fly tonight so I could never figure out where I was shooting. I'm going out with a buddy in daylight later this week so we can figure out where this thing shoots and I can start breaking clays with it!
