You all have been reading my comments on Russian sales for the past few days. Just want to show you my small collection so you will know that I like to buy them also.
From the top:
54 Tula nonrefurb
54 Ishevsk ex DDR refurb
55 Tula Letter "I" unissued
53 Ishevsk refurb

Same order as above. Notice the stock on the second one from the bottom. That is a laminate stock finished in the ruby red and no picture can do justice with it. A truly outstanding stock with no marks to indicate any use. OO has one similar I believe.
These did not come cheap nor were they steals or deals. I paid premium prices for them and was glad to do so to get the quality of the collection I wanted. Would I change any of them out? Yes, if I could get hold of a prime 53 Ishevsk original. The Ishevsk ex DDR is unique from what I can find out and the Tula Letter will not come around again so I will keep them.
It took me about 18 months to accumulate them and I did not do anything in 2011 about buying Russians. OO has been buying all the good ones up leaving very little for the rest of us.

Nice group boomer. Guess I better get in gear and add to my SKS's before they go the way of Mosin M38's.

Very nice collection Boomer, thank you for posting the photos. I love the dark stocks, but the laminate on the 53 Ishevsk is gorgeous too!
I have to ask...which one is your best shooter?

These will not be shot by me.

I put the lead thrrough my Norinco Paras.

The Letter has never had a round through it, the two refurbs have not been fired since refurb and the 54 Original had some wear at the wrist and was used by a Russian soldier (assumed) and presumably shot by him.
BTW, I did not shot the pic with their slings.
That laminated stock on the 53 Ishevsk turns gold in the right angle of light.

That was the response I thought you were going to say
The dark stocks were my favorite, but the blonde laminate keeps grabbing my attention each time I look!
Very nice collection!

Very nice. The dark stock looks so odd to me because I've never seen a Russian before.

Great display of force and beauty, Boomer!
And the Old Outlaw can't get 'em all, so keep your slate open for 2012. There's still some nice SKS-45's to be had out there.

Yes OO, you have moved up on the "I" list. I thought you had one like it?
Most of the Russians, particularly the originals, are dark stocks. They photograph a shade or two darker than they are in hand. Most of the laminates are much lighter. That is not the case with the Letter "I" as pictured due to the dark ruby stain.

Boomer, what you may lack in quantity, is well made up for in the amazing quality of choice "top shelf" specimens. I've always been a huge fan of your SKS collection!

Be sure and check my will OO. Of course there will be a couple of others checking too. Can Mooses check Courthouse records? I know Californians can and will.
If I have my 53 Izhevsk original by then, you might want a shakeup in the lineup.
Don't be alarmed folks, the above is a reference that has some length to it.

Mooses can only call a friend in CA. to do it for them.
Well, remember I am your favorite adopted Nephew. The one who likes the SKS!
