:welcome3: Glad to have you here Yooper J!

I regret not getting into gun collecting at an earlier age... I have a few SKS rifles I bought many years ago & really enjoy them. Seeing the info on your page makes me want to add a few more. Great info & thanks for sharing! :vcool: :vcool:

Greetings, Mr. Yooper, your website has been a wealth of information and I have been looking at your recent revisions. In section 32, finding the date of manufacture of the Chinese /26\ rifles, I noted that you had 2 pictures of 1 million series marked rifles, i.e., /26\ the 3 chinese characters and 1519102, 1517171, respectively, and you questioned whether the 15 might be reversed and were actually 5 million series since you have no reports of this series. This may be true, especially if both these rifles have the Russian style bayonet, full milling, etc., but I have an SKS that adds to the conundrum about the 15 million series (1971), of which you have requested examples.

I believe one of my SKS rifles is a 1971, but it also has the /26\ 3 chinese char.,15 followed by 5 numbers (109xx) as you described above as 1 million series. This mint rifle has all matching numbers, including the stock, has the spike bayonet, 1/2 threaded barrel, but has a stamped trigger assembly and no milled bayonet cutout as with my 1966. Is it possible that the zero was dropped for that year for the rifles numbering under 100,000? Thanks for your assistance.
