Range Time Today, Chicom Sniper Ammo Report.

Well my Brother is down from S.C. for 4 Day's so this Morning we went to the Indian River Public Shooting Range in Sebastian this Morning, it was full, as they had been closed sience Christmas Eve. I took 20 Round's of the Chinese 7.62x54R Sniper White Tip Ammo with me. It was made at Factory-18, and in 1957. I shot it out my 1956 Type-53 Carbine. As my Brother wanted to shoot his S&W .357 Revlover, we were on the 25 Yard side, for Pistol and Rifle the Long Range is on the Right, 50,100, and 200 Yard. Also unfortunely there are not Seat's on the Left Side of the Range, like there are on the Long Range Rifle Range. Nor do they had the Sandbag's on the Left Range. However, despite all that, I shot the Center out of my 25 Yard Rifle Target. I was amaized at how Close I was, Almost All the Round's were inside the Black Circle! No I am not kidding in any way! I told my Brother my Type-53 had never shot that tight, and that was with the Bayonet folded in. I have noticed on some M-44/Type-53's it doen not matter. Next time I shall try 50 and 100 Yard However, I was very Impressed with this Ammo. I just wanted the Chance to shoot some Chicom Ammo, and I had never shot Chinese 7.62x54R. I dont know if it did this well because I was at 25 Yard, however I was huntched down on the Board shooting some, so I was still able to get some tight Groups. very Impressive. Some of you all recall my Post prior to buying some of this Ammo from http://www.polygunbags.com My Brother did not want to shoot my Type-53, As I had my Jacket on, I did not need the Sholder Pad. He did love however shooting my Chinese Type-56-1 AKMS Pre-ban Norinco .

The ammo they made for themselves is good stuff, the ammo they made to sell us tends to be crap. Sounds like you had a fun time, beats the shit out of what I was doing all day....work

I like the look of that ammo, and I know you said before where you got it, but I can't remember. I will see if I can find it but let me know if you see this. Nice pictures by the way of you guys and your range. That is a super sweet Norinco Folder you have there.
