A Texas 10 Point
Some of you all remember the thread with the Remington 1100 that was blown up. Well dad came by today to look at it himself. While he was here he told me about the hunting trip he and his son, the one behind the 1100 that blew up while duck hunting, just got back from southwest of San Antonio, Texas. I think it was down by Pearsall but I'm not sure. Anyway I mentioned this boy and well the whole family loves to hunt and this is proof below. They've taken quite a few deer here in Louisiana this year and this one is a bonus. The boy in that picture doesn't know yet but while his mom and dad were here they dropped off a few new hunting tools for me (Santa's little helper) to watch over until Christmas eve. He got the boy a new 12ga. Stoeger shotgun of his own to use for duck hunting and well whatever else he wants to use it for as well as a new Ruger American .243 Bolt rifle for his younger sister. Dad and I talked about what we'll be getting in the way of a barrel for the 1100 to replace the damaged one too. Oh and it may turn out to be only a 9 point but we have to see what they say when he registers it for the Big Buck Contest and they measure it according to the Boone and Crockett method. He says it has one point that's real small and may not count as an actual point.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: A Texas 10 Point
I believe it ended up scoring as a 9 point when he took it to register for the Big Buck contest but dad said they were in a bit of a hurry to close up and rushed things a bit. It really doesn't matter to the boy. Look at the smile on his face. He's taken maybe 4 or even maxed out his limit to 6 this year again plus this one. I actually have some from a doe he got in the fridge here. I have no idea what this one dressed out to. I've only talked with his dad briefly since he got it. I'll be talking to him in a few days though so I'll ask if they weighed it and what it dressed out at.
