Hey everyone my name is Tom. Like a lot of people after buying one Mosin Nagant, I needed a inexpensive rifle for deer hunting, I bought a few more. A friend of mine told me about the forum so here I am saying hello.
Don't really have anything else to say at the moment, I'll do a bit of browsing to see what's going on and what the rules are.

Welcome, the main rule is no bubba talk., IE no pics, or asking how to modify these rifles. This is a preservation forum, and we like them beat up.. The more beat up they are, the more history they have.

Not sure what you mean by "bubba" talk but I'm aware of the rules about modifications, and while I'm not a believer I can respect those who do.
I don't know how to post photos, and I'm not sure if people accept the sniper rifle I have. It's a 43 Tula I got from Aim last year, and I'm not 100% sure it's "real" and not a post war job or worse some Modern Russian fake.

To put my cards on the table so to speak I'm an online seller of parts and accessories, mostly for the Mosin Nagant , and Steyr M95, and sometime other stuff.
Not trying to advertise but I also don't want to hide what I do for a living as I thought it might bother some folks.
I would be interested in helping people match bayonets, which what a friend told me people on the forum were interested in.
I hope I'm on the right forum if not sorry and I won't post anymore.

The Mosin rifle has filled many a lonely grave with some unfortunate soldier who didn't duck fast enough, it should have no problem on Bambie. I would suggest one of the carbines, they are easier to maneuver in close cover, and like all the Soviet era Mosins they have an excellent sight.

I haven't been able to find M95 slings or bayonets recently at decent prices, don't have any in stock but I'm always looking for things like that.

"JYD" is so right..........I know, the next hunt I do that requires a medium-heavy, I'll take along my M38 along with my .308. Perfect sidekicks. My BIUL hunts bear with a M28-30. 180 grn soft points......oh ya!

Bagged a doe a couple of seasons ago with my first Mosin, it's no different than a 30-06 the deer goes down with one good shot, and I ate venision almost everyday for year. I have 40 acres of mixed small juniper trees, sage, and open field, not really hard to get around with the rifle it's also overloaded with deer, freezers full with this years buck. I actually try to find people to hunt on my land because there are some many deer. I could shoot them from my front door.

I had one dive out in front of me last night on the way back from the grocery store. All the bags in the back of the van went flying to the front. The egg's were in the first bag. No eggs no more.

I hauled a dead one away from near the house yesterday morning, someone wasn't so lucky and a little more than eggs got broken.

They put thousands of dollars in my pocket every year, a steady stream of people needing fenders, bumpers, headlights, or even entire nose, and radiators. Worst case they total the entire car and we end up with it for scrap.
