Original single shot fowler (with stripes!)

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

Original single shot fowler (with stripes!)

Post by Darryl »

This rifle must weigh maybe 2 pounds. It is very very light. Single shot smooth bore fowler for light game (birds, squirrels).
I got this one a while back and forgot about it. Damascus barrel (stripes!) All original.
It is a Emile Laport. I'm working with an expert in these fowlers, and he is going to tell me shortly when it was made. But must be late 1890's.

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

And many other firearms :D
