Quick look looks ok to me. Maybe everyone has spent their wad already. It is hard to tell sometimes why some sell and some don't. Pics are a good reason sometimes. The pics are not that good here but not as bad as I have seen. Did you buy It?

I don't think the price is low at all, pretty much middle of the road range for a 1940's Tikka M91. The pics of the rifle are crude to say the least, If the seller had took some more detailed pics he might have gotten more.

Auctions are a funny thing. Sometimes they just don't get seen by the right person at the right time. The guy who won may have been willing to go way high if someone had challenged him. This did go for about the right price and still be considered a pretty good deal. It'll be about 300.00 by the time it is shipped. A few factors that could have helped the seller get more money in my opinion are:
1. Have more feedback-more well known
2. Start auction at low price to get more people interested
3. Not end auction early in the day when people are working or trying to go home
4. Take more and better pictures
5. Give better idea of shipping quote
The way I see it is 250.00 is all he wanted to get out of it.

I got my 43 Tikka for 185.00 but I think the discoloring in the blueing near the barrel and receiver might have contributed? It actually closed with no bids and I caught it when it relisted. It has a Russian stock with the Bulgarian pine cone stamps. Would the Finns have had it in that stock, or did someone switch stocks? Hmmmm

You are right about auctions. I can run a car through the lane and I get some lowball or no bid. Rerun it 15 minutes later it does all the money. Or I put it up online and make $2000 more than what it brought at the live auction. Just depends on who is looking at the moment and who wants it.

Sometimes a seller has to find a buyer, the buyer doesn't always find the seller.

I believe this is eldestbrother from Gunboards. I have talked to him on the phone before about guns and things and he is a real good guy. I wonder why he didn't just post them on the trader there. I hope to meet him at the TMCA show in Nov here. We were going to last show but came on different days.

It stayed low because the sharks around here were busy someplace else.

Being that it's Halloween they were probably tipping over an outhouse someplace.

Rain just makes it easier to sneak up on the shithouse so the occupant doesn't hear you comming. It also brings out the ghosts, everybody knows that.

One thing you all missed was he only would sell it to an 01 with no consideration of a CR license holder. Those pictures showed you nothing so you were buying it in the dark basically.

Bunkysdad I doubt it was used by the Finns in that stock so yes somebody traded stocks on it. I have seen an increasing number of Finn rifles in Pine cone marked stocks lately. Even have seen a couple of Finned US made Mosins in pine cone marked stocks as of late. Have no idea what goes on there? :? Bill

Balkan M91's were once $45 and sometimes were rough and got parted out, that is were all the Balkan stocks come from. Assholes stripping one rifle to rebuild another Bubba rifle that either shoots better, or they think they can get more money for with no regard to the stripped rifles history.
