The hunter is now the Hunted
I personally think that it SHOULD NOT have been shot

, There are plenty of Moose out there , but some people will just shoot anything .
There are Hunters out there that would shoot your family dog if they could ( And it dose happen )

I agree with you on that point.... regardless of the fact the hunter had a license.
This is the kind of hunter I hope I never encounter. They have a total disregard for nature.

Absolutely appalling. License or not it should have only been shot with a camera. Guy needs whipped.

What a sweet mount that would have made. It says the hunter broke no laws.

Sometime common sense is needed , there was no law broken , But , the question still remains WHY .
They did not make any friends with this action , I would not waste my p***s on them if they were on FIRE

This. That moose was something to tell your grandkids you saw in person, not something to be destroyed for sport. You dont shoot at triple rainbows and the Grand Canyon do you?

Please, don't shoot any moose!
My avatar's pic came from the beaver bog at the back edge of my property. Although there is no moose hunting allowed in this specific zone, it appears that some hunters don't care about the law. His nickname is "Buckshot" (check the ears).
He still makes a showing, every now and then. But he's five years older since the pic.

He is beautiful. Would love to be somewhere where I could see moose on a regular basis. I occasionally see deer but thats about it.

If that showed up around here there would be a massive traffic jam as everybody stopped to see it. The way some of the city people act when they see a wild animal is comic. You would think they expected it to stand up and do some tricks.

Ya, that's the trouble with "city people". Unfortunately we have them in Winnipeg as well.
They are the ones you see approaching wild animals as if they are tame and come straight out of a Disney animation... and maybe that's the problem.
They are the ones who bitch and moan about banning geese from the city (good luck with that) after their precious little brat was attacked because he was probably antagonizing a baby goose and the mother goose stepped in.
They are the ones who feed WHITE BREAD to ducks, geese and every other mammal or bird they can find, including frikkin' black bears !!
They are the ones who swerve their car into your path and almost kill you because they don't want to run over a prairie chicken, rabbit, skunk, etc...
I may have been born and raised in a city but I've spent enough time in the country and the woods to not be "city people".

We went up to Canada from Glacier Nation Park, and across Canada to the west coast, then down to home. We spent 4 days up there and all my wife want to see was a moose. She had me slam on my brakes once on a small road and swore there was a moose and made me back up to see......It turned out to be a cow in the forest! We didn't let he live that down.
We never got to see one, but I understand they are pretty shy at times.
We saw a bison (Buff) in Yellowstone park that year.
He went over to the women's toilets and stood by the entrance blocking it so they couldn't use the toilet or get out! That is when they became my favorite animals!

I would not have shot the white moose either, if I had known it was a sacred animal among the native peoples I would have respected that and not shot it for that reason alone.

We see moose too often around here. When I was a kid, if I would have come home and said I saw a moose, my parents would have told me to stop fibbing. When my wife and I travel west into the mountains, we see all kinds of people stopped on the highway, taking pictures of "wild" elk and those stupid looking mountain sheep or goats. "Oh! Stop the car honey! Let's take some pictures and see if we can't cause an accident at the same time!"
I came around a curve in the Riding Mountain Park in Manitoba to find some clown backing down the highway so he/she could gawk at a black bear standing in the ditch.

you know, there is a really bad taste joke here, but I won't say it................
Sad the rare get mixed in with the not so rare.

One of our customers did a managed hunt last month. He paid the price of a medium house by the ocean to shoot a white Buffalo. He's off to do Big Horn Sheep next week.
