Are you shooting handloads? They are beautiful big cartridges. I don't have one yet, but I could see it being my easy shooting range favorite.

a LGS I frequent has a repro of a Trapdoor "Officer's Model" with a beautiful stock and a tang sight. Lots of special trim/fittings on it. I'm interested but they are high on the price (it's a consignment) and it hasn't been there long enough for the owner to get ansty and possibly take a lower bid. Hopefully he will pull it and I can contact him direct.

There have been several real trapdoors here. The highest priced one was 900. The lowest was 500. Cant remember what the dates were but the 900 one was a newer model. Have never seen a repro trapdoor

In the early 1970's H&R made a very high quality reproduction of the 1873 US Springfield rifle and carbine in several variations, during the 1990's Pedersoli came out with a reproduction of these as well. The reproductions sell in the same price range as the real thing, with the H&R the price can go higher.

I was tempted on the 500 dollar one but it sold faster then I needed it to. Then they had 2 others with them being 800, 900. A little too high for me but I am sure theprices are not too bad considering. Wouldn't mind seeing the repros for comparison.

Way to much for me. I can get a real one for half that or less. Yours looks real good to. Not sure they are selling any of those at that price.

Is there any way to tell how old the original rifle is. If it was a refurbished musket How old are they?

Beautiful rifle collection
There was a comment on your YouTube page in Slovak, I ran it thru the translator, here is what was commented from Europe on your 1873
I like how beautifully vylietavajú the empty shell! He can make a pressurized container? Where to Záhorí let you go to the shooting range with a rifle historical origins? Here in Ba can not imagine.

Was the guy drunk, or was there something wrong with the translation?

The Uberti repros are so beautiful, and I can easily see the appeal for someone who likes to shoot alot. The original for collecting a fine piece of history, and light shooting. The repro for lots of regular shooting and eye candy. A old design made with modern technology and steel would have to be one fine rifle.

Jim, Google translator has it's limitations as you can see, some words and phrases don't' translate to English and some sentences have the word order reversed. The guy was basically saying he liked the way the Trapdoor eject's the spent case, impressed that that the rounds can be hand loaded and really impressed that in the U.S. we can shoot vintage rifles. Interesting he found the video I thought

Cool. We would like to see more of your videos if you have them. Is it hard to collect guns in Slovakia?

It's hard to collect these guns here, for once nothing to do with government regulations, but rather the expence. A shooter 1873 Springfield will start around $900 and head up from there.
