Not bad.
50 yards, seated, no rest.
By the by, I got the Weaver on eBay for $10. People just do not appreciate these old tubes.

Nice!!! Is that barrel free floated or not? Maybe it would help with your grouping.

The stock actually screws into the barrel at 2 points on the bottom.
All I had with me was Remington HV 36gr plated hollow points.
I will try her next time with some standard velocity 40gr lead round nose. I expect to close the gap down to 2".

The stock screws into the barrel? Wow! After you try the standard velocity and if it does not improve, try taking the screws out and see what happens.

" try taking the screws out and see what happens. "
The barrel would fall out, not a good idea.

I have a Model 46B and not US marked which only differs by the loading tubes. A company named Havlin has a good deal of parts for these series rifles.

It doesn't need to be stellar. Honestly it was my first outing with a scoped rifle. I have always been an iron sight guy, myself. I got lucky and have 20/15 vision. I would imagine that when I get as old as Bill or Jim, I will switch over to scopes.
I actually bought this for my son (-2 months right now). I have a beautiful Stevens 14 1/2 for my daughter (15 months right now). I have a few years before I get to teach them to shoot.

MIne is missing the front stock section, shoots well enough without it that I haven't made finding a replacement a priority. In fact it shoots surprisingly well with the $2 air gun scope that's currently on it. Unlike my first 151 this one hasn't had any running away problems. That was always fun, entire tube empty in one short burp.

I have an old Mossberg 46 M-B and I love the way it shoots, good accurate shooter at 100 yds.
You just can't beat those old Mossbergs.

Good call on the ammo change.... these old mossy 22s are really great rifles for the price.

Lapua 1080 fps 40gr lead round nose. Got her from 2.5" spread to 1.5". Give me a little practice and I am sure that I can close that to 1".
