Serial number maybe? My '44 ex-sniper has the serial stamped on the left side of the stock, though oriented vertically and not horizontally..

Auctions are a strange thing. If the seller had listed it with free shipping it might have brought 300.00. People don't generally like to feel like they are being held hostage for shipping. One way or another they will compensate for it. Like you did here. Excellent winnings!

I am glad junkmanted won the M-44 but I gauantee it would have went well way over $200.00 if it had free shipping.Trust me on that--some of you guys here that sell on gunbroker list a gun that you don't care about and put free shipping and just see what happens.

Maybe it's just the white background but the stock kind of looks like it has been refinished? Easy fix & either way, it's still a great deal. Congrats!

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe that's why it sold for less, others thought the same. We will see when he gets it!
