My first!

Post by Warf51 »

OK,,bought a Mosin from the Classifieds and trust it will be a good one from a reputable dealer here. Here is my plans; To go through it and make sure it clean and oiled, and then shoot it,,and shoot it,,,and shoot it! Yes,,,,,,all original,,,no mods,,,just get the puppy sighted in and get to know it. I primarily Bowhunt but enjoy a little Gun hunting for Yotes and Deer once in a while.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssss I guess I am in good company here! I could shoot a new Bolt gun with a scope and have the latest greatest but,,,That would not be any fun! lol ;mywink;

Congrats glad you are collecting Mosins ---Remember please keep it all original and do not put any aftermarket stuff on it or sand the wood--Just clean it and shoot it just like you bought it.

Good luck and welcome!! :alien:

Congrats & :welcome: Get an Okie headspace gauge and check the headspace. Use the multi tool that hopefully came with your purchase & check the firing pin depth. Grab a spam can of surplus ammo & have fun. These rifles do multiply quickly. Post some pics when you get her all cleaned up. JYD has posted a ton of great videos on checking headspace, firing pin depth etc so be sure to check those out if you have any questions.
