Recently got this. Am considering buying a 43 Tula from the same source.
Does this thing look legit?

Here is a link to photos - https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nt7srfblmk277ob/Y05TxLVmz6

Thanks,

It's a Molot rifle, there is a subforum for them here.

It looks good to me, I also have one not far away from yours serial wise.

1942 is a pretty difficult to find production year for Izhevsk PU snipers, the Tula's in that production year nearly impossible, congrats and welcome!

These 1942 "Stalingrad era" snipers are quite cool and historical, and rather scarce too. This one is in a correct Izhevsk stock from the 1942-43 period also, which always adds a little interest and collectability.

By the way, if you didn't get a sling with this rifle, an excellent correct choice would be one of the early WW2 "ersatz" emergency pattern canvas slings with the leather strap ends with thong ties that are offered by Liberty Tree Collectors. These are totally original, correct, and proper for an early rifle like this, and many Ww2 Soviet photographs show snipers using these. These are about the only genuine WW2 Soviet slings you can find these days, and are quite affordable as well.
