Henry AR7

Post by mogunner »

Picked this up today. Brand new. Told the wife it was for her... :o I had one way back when Charter Arms made them and always wanted another one. Supposedly they're very picky on ammo, all I shot in mine were Stingers and never a lick of trouble.

I like it.
I keep seeing them and thinking I need one but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Gonna need a range report.

I have been looking for one of the old ones. they show up in the pawn shops some times, but not lately. The Henry .22 Survival rifle is the one liked the most and want now.

My father picked up one of these used but brand new in the box...... went to fire it and found it would not shoot. Turns out the bolt face was not opened up to the proper diameter to receive the rim of the casing. I fixed it. Look out for that.....

I remember a friend of mine buying one of these in 1985, I don't think he ever used it even to this day. He wanted it for "camping" but never went camping.

We had them in at work, and I wasn't as impressed with the newer ones as the old models. Keep to the Stingers, and maybe Aguila's Hyper-Velocity round. Now the old M6 Pilot Survival gun, the .22 Hornet over .410, that I'd like to have. Sadly, they are an SBR/SBS. And very rare.

I've got plenty of different brands of .22lR on hand to try, lol. Everything from Thunderbolts to Stingers and everything in between. Hope to make it out on Sunday, wife and daughter want to go so not sure how much shooting I'll get in...need to run some rounds through the SKS to check my scope mount and of course have two T53's that need first shots through.
