If you don't have an Albanian, you need one. If you let somebody buy it, you will regret it. As long as it is a good price.

All that I have to compare it to are the Russians at this point. What I can say is its different from all the rest so...yup....it sets it apart from the rest too.

I could maybe persuaded to let a Russian go but the Albanian is gonna stay put. :vcool:

Finish metal work is not the best. Quality wise to me, other than some rough finished parts, I'd say close to any other. Mine the receiver fits loose in the stock. But I bought for the collectors value, and I got it for a decent price. I've never shot it so I cant say if it shoots good. But, it's an SKS, and the rarest of the big five makers.

Here is mine, just to give you an idea on how much variance there can be, the other two posted look like very nice examples  Mine is wearing an unnumbered stock that was never fitted correctly after replacement. See the photo of the rear of the receiver, those are shims made up from an old credit card just to hold the action still, there are are 3 pieces of the card used to take up the gap. The cross bolt nut is missing also, but I really have no intention on ever firing it. The barrel and action still caked with storage grease, only the outside has been cleaned. All the metal is matching and it's dated '78. Some of the extras I have are an Albanian chest rig and an Albanian copy of the Chinese sling, the cleaning kit and oiler for the double hole stock butt plate. And a truly unfinished/unfitted Albanian replacement stock, very crudely cut and still has pencil markings on it. The rear sling hanger and butt plate holes are not even drilled. Almost like they stopped and walked away before they finished it.

Just the oddness of this SKS, along with the rarity, if the price is with in reason, it makes a great collectible.

Compared to a refurb Tula Russian, Norinco or Yugoslavian M56/66, and Romanian, I'd say. Russians hold alot of appeal because they are the orginial SKS. But there is estimated 6000 to 7000 Albanians left which adds to the value.
