So here are my three standby .22's the Ruger I have manged to hang onto since my youth, dad bought it new in 1964 before I was born. The 10/22 accompanied me on many backpacking trips and cross country hikes dropped and abused when I was younger. One thing I can say it has never, NEVER jammed also happens to be serial number 9032.
The Stevens model 15B boys rifle is the same model I had when I was a kid and foolishly sold off when I was in my early 20's saw it in a shop on my 37th birthday and took it home, no serial number on these rifles made before 1968. Rifle has a well mounted old Weaver 4X scope, this rifle has turned out to be one of my all time favorite shooters go's every time. When we bust up clays and put holes in cans on the side of a hill or pumice quarry with the Mosins and Mausers when we are done we sit back and take fine shots with our scoped .22's to finish off the the targets.
Last is an old Glenfield I picked up for $35.00 bucks about 25 years ago, decent .22

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
