Eau Claire Ordnance Plant M2 Ball

Post by tjtM38 »

This is some cool ammo I found at a small gun shop in west Alabama. This box had been opened and retaped, but all original cartridges were contained. It is headstamped "EW" over "42." This ammo was early production M2 ball from a plant in Wisconsin in 1942. I bought one other box that was unopened with the same lot number. Although corrosive primed, it is good wartime ammo. However, I consider this is just for collecting; not for shooting in the M1.

Very nice find, I have a collection of WW2 US M2 ball also :)
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Eau Claire is a 3 hour drive for me. Nice town, I went to school at the State University there. I almost stayed in that town after school.
