Going to purchase a AR500 Steel Gong, and do most of my shooting at 100 yards with iron sites and can't decide on a 6"or 8" , anyone with experience with gongs at that range ? I can keep most of shot on a 9" paper plate with either my T53 or M44, so go back and forth between 6 or 8. Any only buying 1 !!!

The 6 inch should do at 100. The 10 ring on a SR 200 yard target is 7 inches. Should your eyes be okay then the 6 in will be fine for 200 too.

Get the bigger one and paint a 6 inch circle on it.

Order a 4'x8' sheet of it. You'll hit it every time.

At 100 yards the 6" center of my targets is about the width of the front sight pin inside the globe of my 91/30. I would get the 8".

You will be able to see your hits as the paint chips as well. It will also be easier to use if you use a "6 o'clock" hold
