Confirmed Jaguar Sighting

Post by etprescottazusa91 »

Hunters are always being bashed in the media these days, though everyone might find this interesting. A full grown adult jaguar has been confirmed in Southern Arizona two days ago, reported and well documented by a hunter.

That happened here with the wolves. The fish and game said no ain't no dang wolves here and the hunters started reporting them and they said ...Nah...they's coyotes, hunters said no they are wolves and took pictures and finally the fish cops came out with a trail camera and what do you know? There was wolves in them thar woods. Funny how us hunters don't know what we are lookin at? (according to fish and game anyway) :vconfused:

Yea, we aren't supposed to have any mountain lions here either until one of them met the front end of a BMW about 25 miles from here a few months ago. Before that it was bears that we didn't have, then they started showing up in back yards were they were filmed.

Here in Omaha, it was the food chain in reverse. We started having Mountain Lions downtown (where the hell are the mountains around here?!). I did see one myself finally, but it was on the out-skirts of town, actually maybe 1/2 mile outside the city limits. It was crossing a road near a big public lake acess area. Then the deer showed up. Of course they are all around us here, but they started getting hit on the road smack in the middle of town. I saw a "ninja buck" avoid two cars recently by kicking his back legs up just as they passed with him in the middle. It was all good luck and good timing of course, but his trashing around likely saved his life. Now the big thing is turkeys. With all the new, expensive homes being built west, the owner's are complaining of turkey poop in their driveway. It's even made the news of few times lol.

Just pooh? The noise from a herd of turkeys is more annoying then a little pooh.

You got that right. Everytime mine hear a certain tone in a conversation they gobble. I have to put them up when company comes by. Otherwise we couldn't talk. And you can't just run them off. They just turn around and come right straight back.

There's plenty of critters out there.... Doesn't matter what the experts say. Saw a cougar about a mile from my house on the side of the road, looked like it got hit by a car. Went home, grabbed the camera & it was gone when I got there!?!?!? :beek:

Playing dead or just sleeping, or the DEP goon squad got there first and grabbed it up before you got the proof. You should have grabbed the body.

Yep, no such thing as a Sasquatch either. Those dang drunk hunters keep seeing em and reportin' em anyway. As if an outdoors man would'nt be able to tell the difference between a bear and a giant man-ape.

You know a jaguar is the same animal as a leopard?

Leopards are some of the most dangerous animals out there. Good thing there's just this one!

You know, now that I am thinking on it, if it was playing dead and you grabbed the body........man, just think of the story you would have to tell once you got out of the hospital...if you lived of course.

Oh I looked it up. Leopards are not exactly the same animals as Jaguars. Jaguars are bigger, and act a little more like Tigers than leopards do.

Thanks for this. It was great to read and see the pictures too. I've had dogs my whole life but never hunted with one until I came here. The Rat Terrier I have is a relentless hunter and she has different sounds she makes when she's on a trail or has something bayed. When they said Siren being his most experience dog bayed a certain sound that the other inexperienced dogs recognized as no false alarm I know exactly what that sounds like. Everyone around me has some type of hunting dog from Rat Terriers to Moutain Fiests to Bluetick hounds and straight out Coon hounds and these dogs are seroius hunters. If you've never been around it I highly recommend it. Once you know their language it's like hearing someone yelling "hey over here!".

Several years ago in the Prescott area there were several sightings of a black mountain lion roaming a rural mountainous neighborhood called diamond valley, only thing, mountain lions are not black though sometimes Jaguar have that color phase. Fish and game did confirm tracks for a large heavy mountain lion, jaguars have not made it that far north they said. As far as everyone reporting the cat being black, it was the light or the public must have been mistaken.
