Put another rifle on layaway!

I found my new favorite gun shop haha! Stopped by a shop called "bikes and guns". They deal with motorcycle parts and sell guns

. The owner has a ton of military surplus rifles. Many many non refurbed rifles and non import marked rifles. Mosins, mausers, arisakas, and just about everything else you can think of. He has to work up the prices on alot of the stuff. But I did find something I liked that had a price

. I put a
marlin model 39 .22lr on layaway

. Very good condition and a fair price. I could have stayed there forever haha. He even said he was looking for some part time help

.
I was too happy to snap a picture unfortunately

I had a model 39a Mountie? IIRC back in my teenage years. I had to sell it, a Krag, and a left-hand Remington 1100 to fund my first car purchase. Wish I still had them. Enjoy yours!

A Marlin 39 is the Cadillac of fine lever action 22's. Millman has one that's a beauty. They have been around forever. I am interested to see how old it is.

I had a Stevens lever action .22 once, but it was sized for a chils and I sold it to a .guy with a kid. I was still able to shoot it somewhat despite the short size, but it was just to awkward.

Thanks

if the shop put the serial number correctly on my receipt and I decided it right it appears to be an '82 year model. Not too old but still nice. I guess it could still turn out to be older if they left off any letters. It was in good condition though. Blueing was ok with a couple tiny wear spots. The action was quite smooth and the barrel appeared to be good (just dirty).

I've been looking at them for a while but haven't found one at a descent enough price and condition until now. The shop is pretty nice, and about 15-20min away from my house. Only bad thing is they really don't have any ammo or accessories. But they make up for that with having tons of military surplus stuff. I'm not sure about his prices are on them yet but he has alot of nice stuff. I can spend hours handing them all and having the owner tell me the neat little facts about them.
