Vomit burps? when did you ever eat my cooking?

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

So what about those people who might remove an original stock and fit something like an Archangel to the action? (keeping the stock intact as is so it could be returned to original specs at any future time) Is that a hanging offence, or no
Not that I would

Anything that can be put back to complete original is not a hanging offense. Just 20 lashes and a promise to put it back and never do it again. South of the equator it is 40 lashes.zhuk wrote:So what about those people who might remove an original stock and fit something like an Archangel to the action? We regard that often as mall ninja stuff when done to a rifle, you can put the rifle back of course, but why change a work of art into something from Planet of the Apes?zhuk wrote:So what about those people who might remove an original stock and fit something like an Archangel to the action? 'Planet of the Apes', lol
Just asking cos a friend is planning to do this on a T53, for the purposes of taking it hunting and so not having to worry about ripping the shit out of the stock when he's hunkered down in a deer wallow. Yeah, I know T53 stocks aren't necessarily renowned for their beauty lol

Temporary stock to get field use from a historical rifle in order not harm the original stock, okay he gets a pass on that. As long as it's not done to look at believing it enhances the riflezhuk wrote:etprescottazusa91 wrote:We regard that often as mall ninja stuff when done to a rifle, you can put the rifle back of course, but why change a work of art into something from Planet of the Apes?zhuk wrote:So what about those people who might remove an original stock and fit something like an Archangel to the action? I put the hunting with original , or aftermarket stock question to a friend of mine who still hunts. He said real men hunt with a bow, what I said to that can't be printed here.zhuk wrote:So what about those people who might remove an original stock and fit something like an Archangel to the action? No, he owns and loves a very nice hex M91/30 and is certainly not considering going the Archangel route for any 'enhancement' on that score lol. Did not want to take his lovely Tula out in the bush, which I can understand. Though he did shoot a goat with it once
He's planning to go for Sambar deer, which are relatively common down in Victoria, plus they have laws down there allowing hunting not only in State Forests (as we have in NSW) but also National Parks (which we don't, well not as yet)
So sambar, or possibly goats lol

I saw a taxidermy show a while back and a young lady had shot a camel down under and was having a full mount made. They said that camels were a problem in Australia. True or not?

I have a couple of fragile 'as last issued' stocks that I wouldnt want to risk. I swap them out to shoot etc. and switch them back when Im done.

Re: To the bubbas lurking on this site....
Can you take a shot at all of the camels you have running around down there? Or is the camels all over story a bit of misinformation, like Fosters is Australian for beer?

In the desert areas/outback, absolutely.
Camels were brought out in the mid 19th century, mostly from India to be used for transportation, assistance in construction and colonisation, about 10,000 originally. Have now gone feral in large numbers.
Ironically enough, one of the few reasons for which professional cullers may have semi auto centrefires

Camels as transportation. I was looking once at a 1990 model and a 2000 model side by side and I couldn't tell a bit of difference!

Damn, missed this comment
Think we've still got a few cat-o-nine-tails lying around, probably local cops would be the best bet...
...or maybe Kings Cross

Yeah, they found out the original model worked so well there was no need for later upgrades
