the_commodore wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 3:51 pm Hi all! New here but have been lurking. I have a M39 VKT 1942 D barrel. Haven't shot it yet but looking to getting it out. Anybody have any ammo recommendations for it? I know the M39 prefer certain types of 7.62x54r.
I can‘t speak for the M39, but the PPU brand 7.62 works fine in my M91/30. Sadly the FMJ ones seem to be of lower quality than the lead tip ones, as the tend to bind up in the clip, when I try to load them. The lead tips didn‘t have that problem so far.

But as far as I‘ve heard, the S&B brand is supposed to be of better quality (but also more expensive).

If you‘re from the US, I sadly can‘t tell you, which ammo types are available or good over there

Howdy, been a Mosin owner for about 8 years, and I'm happy to have found this forum for these awesome rifles; I've already learned a bunch just perusing these discussions. I love seeing everyone's Mosins on here! I might make a post with some photos of my homely 91/30 :)

Hi Everyone,

My name is Kyle, and I've been fortunate enough to get my hands on a few relatively rare Mosin's in my collecting.

I look forward to posting them in the coming days!
