Just a quick hello. I'm new here, but have been studying about Mosins for a while. I just got this one, my first M-N. I believe it's a Spanish Civil War rifle. Hoping to shoot it soon.
Don't mind George. He sticks his nose in everything.

I broke it down today to give it a good cleaning (only the bore really needed it) and document the arsenal marks. That's when I noticed the import mark on the underside of the muzzle end, and realized CAI must have added the duplicate s/n on the receiver. I'm figuring a 1960s import.

Very odd, the SCW rifles are 1950's imports, well before Century arms or Fed import mark requirement's

This page does state that the SCW Mosins were imported into the 1960s. Maybe this was older inventory that CAI had to "update" when laws changed? Or could it be a SCW that found its way elsewhere from Spain before coming here?
Leave it to me to find something that doesn't fit the mold...

Bonjour,
Je suis un nouveau membre.Je viens d'acheter un fusil KO-91/30 Made in Russia.
Arsenal de Toula, numéro 5800
Je suis étonné, la date semble être 1923 avec une surcharge sur le "3" de 1923 qui ressemble à un "7"
Avez vous déjà vu une telle surcharge ?
Merci pour tous vos bons conseils.

Hello,
I am a new member.I just bought a rifle KO-91/30 Made in Russia.
Arsenal of Tula, number 5800
I am astonished, the date seems to be 1923 with an overload on the "3" of 1923 that looks like a "7"
Have you ever seen such an overload?
Thank you for all your good advice.

Hello guys,
I just joined this forum and have an Izshevsk 91/59 on the way. I'm really excited about it, it will be a perfect stable mate for my Bulgarian Makarov which is also on it's way. Two Russian guns in one week!

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Hello!
I have a rifle / scope question please, hopefully someone can shed some light for me. I have a Russian made Mosin Nagant 91/30 with a PU scope (which of course reads in meters), both are matched and both made in 1943. At home i set up a grid target 25 yards out, and used a bore laser to zero it. I read on several websites that this rifle @ 25 yards should have the scope reading 2 inches above center of the grid target. Which is what i got. So then on to the 100 yard range. The RO at the range said the distance to target measured exactly 100 yards. In order to hit my target i had to set my PU scope to just over 130 meters. A 130 meters is 142 yards. I am getting pretty good grouping on the target now, just that the PU scope is set for just over 132 meters. I tried both "spam can" ammo and also new ammo from store - no difference.
So my questions then are, please: does this mean the bracket of my scope needs to be adjusted? Am guessing the front body of the scope needs to come down? What do i need to do, so i can get the scope to read closer to around 91 meters? I can adjust the front of the scope and and down (there is an adjustment screw for it) but i wanted to bounce it off someone more knowledgeable first, before i start playing. It is always best to know what you're doing first, especially with a firearm. :-D
Thank you in advance for any direction and advice you can give!
