Re: New Members, Make your first post here!
Howdy folks.
I recently got into shooting and made 3 acquisitions. One of which, according to the stamps is a 1942 Izhevsk mosin 91/30. The price was right but it has a few modifications I can overlook and some I cant. I joined the forums in hopes to find others with information I need in replacing the missing components and restoring this rifle to it's correct state. And before you start to worry, I had it checked out by a reputable local gunsmith to make sure it was safe and sound to use. I tore it down that day to give it a proper clean and lube.
Nice meeting you all and I look forward to correspondence.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Hey fellas, names Lou I am a Paramedic from the gun friendly state of SC. First time poster long time lurker, came here to learn more information on the Mosin Nagant as I have caught the "Finnish Mosin" bug. I swear if I spent the same amount of time doing school work as I do researching guns I could be a DR by now

Very glad to find this site. I originally collected Mosin's back in the late 90's and up through 2004 buying the cheap ones. Traded or sold every last one. Now collecting again of course at a higher cost. So far I have a finn 28, three 39's a 91 1nd a 91/30. Russian I have two 91/30's and two m44's. I have a lot of questions so be patient please.

Hello. Allow me to introduce myself a little.
I am a 22 year-old senior at McPherson College in Kansas, about to earn my bachelor's of science in "Historic Automotive Restoration". It's basically a formal education in restoring and preserving classic cars.
I had no idea what a Mosin Nagant was until a classmate and close friend of mine bought a 1942 M91/30. The instant I touched it, saw the battle scars, and saw the hammer and sickle felt the history. I love WWII and anything soviet. So, I got on Gunbroker and bought one for myself, a lovely 1943 Izhevsk M91/30 ex-sniper. More about her later.
Don't worry, I'm the last person to modify a historic firearm. All my old cars ride on bias ply tires and are preserved the way they left the factory. My Mosin is no different.
Anyway. Happy to be here, I look forward to future interactions!

Hello
I'm Frederic and i live in Bordeaux (France)
I discovered Mosin a few months ago, during a weapons presentation on a shooting club near Bordeaux.
The owner let me try his Sniper, and I enjoyed it ( my wife did also)
A member of my club had one, and sold it one month ago, so I bought it...
I'm now the owner of this 1943-Izhevsk Mosin. It looks like it's original : Numbers matching on the rifle, and very smooth trigger. The score mount looks original, and I think the PU is Yoshkar-ola made.
It is able to group impacts within a 16cm circle at 200m (I guess it is OK, according to specifications I found in russian manual for Mosin PU)
I will post pictures as soon as possible, but for the moment, I try to improve my accuracy...

Brand new to the forum: I have a 1893 Chatellerault M91, Finnish rework with a Letter C stamped on the right finger groove. I am interested to find if anyone knows what that means. I have been all over the internet and found nothing. I am hoping that one of the experts may help me.
Thr trigger is awesome crisp and was looking for pointers on reloading for the Finn ammo as well.

Hey everyone.. New member from Canada here. Just bought myself a 1944 Mosin 91/30 PU and am doing as much reading into these as I can
It is my first but definitely not my last 91/30
Wish I knew the history behind this one.. each of these has a story to tell , every mark adds character

I have a sickness.....
I have a crate full of MNs (20 rifles) and I've looked at it only a couple of time since I've owned it. I want to peek at it. Would that be sinful?
Aloha, Mark
