The buying panic for ammo is not irrational. While the likelihood of federal restrictions on ammo seem remote, the likelihood of background checks to buy ammo, amount restrictions, restrictions on Internet sales, etc. In anti states is there. NY has some nonsense in their new law. What if CA follows suit? The people in those states are smart to stock up ahead of the restrictions. That starts the run and puts us where we are today.

Well, a lot of us have warned for months and years that you need to build up a large stock over time. Not buy by the box or a few boxes at a time.
Buy by the case. Many have. Most did not and those are who are driving this craziness.

Don't remind me, I shouted to all who would listen, get at least 1000 rounds of whatever you shoot the most, 10,000 or more would be better, but no, few if any listened.

I know JYD, I know. I was called an alarmist and told I did not know what I was talking about. That this would never happen. On an SKS Board even.
Now these people are running to every Walmart, Dunhams, Academy, Internet, and LGS claiming some hoarder got there minutes before them and bought the last 5 or 10 boxes. They like to claim all those buyers are reselling for 4-10 times what they paid. That's small peanuts in this market!

Newbies are flooding some Boards so bad that it is not funny. And, most are Bubba boys with their bump fire stocks, Bull Pup cut offs, and 30 and 40 round mags on their SKS. They join for two reasons only.
1. To complain they cannot find ammo cheap like they used to.
2. To ask if any members have any ammo to sell at the old prices.

I am sick of listening to these guys whom would not listen, now cry and want some of us to help them out. I thank you people for not letting Bubba come here! This is the only sane Gun Board on the net right now. Rant over.

Glad to have you OO. Still got the little man target you sent me and pass it on to all who ask.
I'd rant a little but.... Too tired. Looking at armslist used to be a fun way to kill some time, maybe do a little horse trading. Now if you don't have an ar,sks, or colt 1911 you don't have squat.

Know what you mean celt. Hey, you aren't all that far away from here I think. I'm on the Iowa side of the Mississippi. Quad Cities. When it warms up, maybe we ought to get together and go shoot a few rifles some place. What ya think?

Sound good. There is a good spot called zone four right down the road. I don't have any rifles though. I'm working in it but 250 for a 91? Can't do it. I do have that 45 though. Still haven't out her through the paces yet. Too cold to shoot a pistol.
I was really tempted to hold on to that blacked sks but the 45 seemed the better bet.

You need to spend that on a Swedish Mauser. You are in the range believe it or not for this area.

I got the 45 cuz i had the 03. Now no long gun. I'd gladly swap the hand canon for a long gun but i can't find anyone willing.

Wish i had the money to buy by the crate but i get what i can afford when i see it available. I still, foolishly, make the trip to walmart or dunhams in hopes of them having russki x39 but its not available. Gotta balance the budget and scrap what i can to buy some when i find it. Thankfully i have a good stockpile and have been buying since i got my SKS in Oct.
To many to list, many more to get, not enough money :-D

1000 zombies and only 900 rounds of ammo, they way some of these people are acting you would think they were expecting to face that situation. Expecting they would live past the first ten rounds .

If guys put away a few dollars a month, they could buy cheaper by the case in a few months. But they won't do it, and now cry about ammo. Hell,
I'm on Social Security and can do it. I still pay the bills! But I got ammo.

I bought when prices were low, I did that because I well remember the dry days before all the imports started coming in when you couldn't get ammo for a lot of things. I started buying ammo from all over the place five months before this, no reason for it, I just suddenly felt I could use some extra ammo, case of this and that, some odd lots of stuff.
