I'm rick, more commonly called RecycledTeen because my mom tagged me with that years ago> Because I refuse to grow up!!! ;mywink; Anyway I stumbled across this forum and glad that I did. My son bought a 91-30 and he got me interested in them. The more I researched the more interested I became in them. I now have one that has had the stock changed to a "Sport" but I have most parts to change it back to original and now in search of a few more to complete the transformation. The main part i need is the front top cap, I think I have located the rest but am looking for that particular piece finished out as close as I can find to match my wood so there will be no retouching to match. Getting ready to hit up some gun shows in the next few weeks to find some treasure!
Welcome top the board, good luck with the gun show hunt, we have been getting disappointing news from some members who are hitting the shows. High prices and low selection.

Appreciate the advice on the gun shows, have been looking also on line but trying to get the same stain or hue to the wood so it will match closely is a pain. I will continue on the gun shows carrying the stock with me so I can match it! IT ($$) may be worth a little more knowing that the color is right rather than ordering one in hopes the it will match. You know how colors transfer online...not good!

I have at least a hundred refurb Soviet Mosins, not one of them is exactly the same shade as any of the others. Variety, embrace it, grab every Mosin you can no matter what the shade of it's wood .

Thank you for adding me. I plan to start collecting Mosin Nagants, but I have to first do a lot of studying about these fine rifles.

Hey guys, I am new here. Been lurking occasionally and have questions so thought I should join! I am from Australia. Mosins are not as cheap here as they are in the US. No $80 rifles in nice condition here!

I own one Mosin currently a Russian 91/30 that was made at Tula. Pretty basic, nothing special but I like it, my first one.

I want to own another few, next I would like a sniper variant, not a make up, but a real sniper rifle.

I have a couple questions, should I put them here or in another more specific section? Its in relation to my bore condition and what accuracy I could expect/acheive. I am not into sporterising and military firearm, it repulses my to be honest. Keep em stock standard I say.

So shall I ask q's here or elsewhere?

Thanks for having me folks.

Welcome to the board, your probably better off asking questions on the Mosin forum, or the sniper one, questions might get missed in this thread.

Hey guys!

I like Russkie WW2 rifles, and have 2 snipers, 2 dragoons, 1 M44, and five 91/30s, also a Tula SKS dated 1951. I'd like to get a Dragunov and SVT someday, but those pesky details of maintaining a household and paying bills seem to get in the way of my firearms interests. Have a good one, Frank Blood

Has anyone had experience with Royal Tiger purchases in terms of prices, quality of surplus rifles in other words do they walk the talk ? I was considering a Tula sniper but haven't worked with them bebefore. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Is my Izhevsk rifle manufactured in 1929 considered a MN 91/30?
