Nice Carbines! :bwink:

The M91/59, M91/38, and M38 are all officially 7 1/2 lbs (plus or minus)

M44 is 9 lbs.

Maybe someone soaked it in cosmoline!

I'll get a chance to heat them up today. I put a bunch of old t-shirts in the gun bag just in case there's an entire pound of cosmoline waiting to seep out of that M38 once I get to shooting it. If you hear later that I drowned in a pool of Russian Gun Snot tell everyone I died happy...

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Ended up eating the chicken wings instead. Carb free JYD approved food.

Both rifles did well and as usual annoyed the Mattel special shooters on either side of me.

25 rounds with each rifle at 100 yds. standing unsupported. I shot the M44 with the bayonet extended (because folks on the site have said that's how they were zeroed and in honor of our illustrious leader's vast experience with standard issue infantry gear). The M44 grouped a little better than the M38 and as you can see neither was exactly driving tacks. Those are massive 24 inch splatter targets. In part I blame me and I will get these on a shooting rest next time out, but shooting fast standing up is a lot of fun.

I'll float em and cork em then see where I am. Now I need more ammo...
